The Giant Steps Living Lab is a partnership between Giant Steps and the Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) that connects research with everyday experience. Based at the Giant Steps Centre for Autism in Montreal, the Living Lab brings together researchers, educators, families, and community partners to co-create tools and practices that foster learning, inclusion, and quality of life for autistic people.

About this opportunity

Giant Steps, in collaboration with TACC, is inviting an autistic individual to join the Advisory Committee of its Living Lab.

The Advisory Committee helps guide the Living Lab’s activities and priorities by sharing ideas, perspectives, and lived experience to strengthen the connection between research, education, and community.

About the Advisory Committee

Members of the Advisory Committee meet virtually four times a year to:

  • Help orient and prioritize research activities in the Living Lab
  • Facilitate multidisciplinary and cross-sectoral collaborations, partnerships and connections
  • Provide guidance and recommendations on strengthening an organizational culture that supports the integration of research into an autism educational setting
  • Act as ambassadors to engage key stakeholders and promote inclusion
  • Offer guidance on resourcing and sustainability of the Living Lab.

How to apply

Submit a short statement of interest (in writing or video) in English or French answering these two questions:

  1. What motivates you to serve on the Committee, and what is your connection to autism or autism research?
  2. What contribution do you believe you can bring to the Committee (for example, lived experience, expertise, ideas, or vision)?
