Inclusive governance roundtable 2026

Overview

Date: September 29, 2026
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. ET
Format: Online
Language: French, with bilingual discussion
Audience: By invitation

About the event

The Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) is convening an inter-network roundtable to explore how people with lived and living experience can be meaningfully included in the governance of research networks.

While the involvement of people with lived and living experience has become increasingly common within health research, their participation in governance and decision-making remains less explored. This working meeting brings together research networks, community organizations, and people with lived and living experience to share approaches, challenges, and lessons learned, while building stronger connections across individuals and organizations.

The roundtable is part of TACC’s ongoing work to strengthen inclusive governance.

What to expect

Through short panel discussions and facilitated conversations, participants will explore topics including:

  • Why organizations have chosen to include people with lived and living experience in governance
  • Different governance models and approaches to participation
  • Supports that enable accessible, equitable, and meaningful participation
  • Representation, diversity, and intersectionality in governance.

The discussions will contribute to a broader reflection on inclusive governance and help inform future governance models for research networks.
