Three members of the Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) have been awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal.
The Coronation Medal, administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall, commemorates the coronation of His Majesty King Charles III as King of Canada. It is awarded to individuals whose contributions have had a meaningful and lasting impact on their communities and the country.
Each of the TACC-affiliated recipients has exemplified excellence in their respective fields, advancing the values of inclusion, accessibility, and innovation that are central to our work.
Nick Katalifos (TACC Partner Member)
Director General, English Montreal School Board
Awarded the medal by Senator Leo Housakos, Nick Katalifos was recognized for his dedication to inclusive education and community leadership. A longtime champion of equitable access to education, his work has fostered welcoming environments where all students—including those with neurodevelopmental conditions—can thrive. His advocacy continues to shape policies that support diversity and inclusion in schools across Quebec.
Guy A. Rouleau, OC, OQ, MD, PhD, FRCP(C), FRSC, FAAN (TACC Regular Member)
Director, Montreal Neurological Institute-Hospital
Dr. Rouleau was honoured with the Coronation Medal for his research aimed at uncovering the genetic origins of neurological and neurodevelopmental conditions. His work has advanced the development of precise diagnostic tools and targeted interventions, bringing hope and clarity to countless individuals and families. A globally recognized leader, Dr. Rouleau’s contributions continue to elevate Canada’s profile in the field of neuroscience.
Keiko Shikako, PhD (TACC Regular Member)
Associate Professor, McGill University and Canada Research Chair in Childhood Disability: Participation and Knowledge Translation
Dr. Shikako received the Coronation Medal from Earth Rangers in recognition of her co-leadership on a project to develop inclusive mobile apps for children. These digital tools were designed to be both engaging and accessible, enabling children of all abilities to explore and learn. Her work bridges health, education, and technology, making inclusion a reality in everyday experiences for young people.
