The Transforming Autism Care Consortium (TACC) is seeking to strengthen the inclusive participation in its governance of autistic people and individuals with other neurodevelopmental conditions, also known as people with direct lived and living experience (PWLE).
A working group was formed in January 2026 to support the development and implementation of a consultation process. This initiative will lead us to prepare recommendations to be submitted to the TACC Members’ Assembly.
This call for applications seeks to support the involvement of one PWLE in this workgroup.
This Workgroup will bring together:
- Persons with direct lived and living experience (autistic people and those with other neurodevelopmental conditions)
- Members of the Community Engagement Committee and the TACC network
Workgroup members will:
- Participate and contribute to the consultation process currently underway (preparation of a roundtable to be held in June, broader consultation of members)
- Contribute to discussions on the principles of representativeness, recognition, and equity in governance participation
- Reviewing and providing feedback on the proposal to be submitted to TACC’s Members’ Assembly
Expected commitment:
- Timeline of involvement: May 2026 to November 2026
- Availability on June 18, 2026, for the consultation process
- Attend 5 to 6 meetings (estimated at 3 hours per meeting, including time spent reviewing documents in preparation for the meeting)
- Format: Online meetings
- Compensation: An annual stipend of $300 CAD, in accordance with TACC’s recognition and compensation policy
How to apply
Submit a brief statement of interest (in writing: approximately ½ page, or recorded on video: approximately 3 minutes) addressing the following questions:
- Why are you interested in joining the Workgroup, and what is your connection to autism or neurodevelopmental conditions?
- What contribution do you think you can make to the Workgroup in terms of experiential knowledge, vision, or expertise, among other things?
Applications may be submitted in French or English via email to rtsa-tacc@mcgill.ca
Application deadline: May 13, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. ET
All applications will be reviewed by the members of the Working Group on Inclusive Governance. Depending on the number of submissions received, brief interviews with candidates may be held.
