This program focuses on equipping caregivers of young children with socio-communicative delays, including autism, with the skills necessary to support their child&#8217;s growth and development.<\/p>\n<p>Participants in the MT Workshop will gain knowledge and skills to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Teach caregivers to use evidence-based\u00a0strategies for promoting shared engagement, social skills, and positive behaviours in their children through play and daily home routines<\/li>\n<li>Integrate the CST Program in routine services<\/li>\n<li>Train and supervise others to carry out the intervention<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>MT Workshop Expert Trainers\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Expert trainers offer support to CST MT Workshop participants and their local organizations via training, supervision, and implementation guidance:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/marla-cable-289b4919\/?originalSubdomain=ca\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Marla Cable<\/strong><\/a><strong>,<\/strong>\u00a0CST Master Trainer, Resource and Training Centre Coordinator, Giant Steps School<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/rebecca-fenton-b632549a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Rebecca Fenton<\/strong><\/a>, CST Master Trainer, Project Coordinator, Autism Yukon<\/li>\n<li>with support from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/drluciachacko\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Lucia Murillo Chacko<\/strong><\/a>, CST Focal Point, Associate Director, Clinical Services and Inclusion, Autism Speaks<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Learn more about our trainers\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcgill.ca\/neuro\/article\/patients\/conversation-who-caregiver-skills-training-program-master-trainers\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">online<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>About the CST Program\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Developed by the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.who.int\/teams\/mental-health-and-substance-use\/treatment-care\/who-caregivers-skills-training-for-families-of-children-with-developmental-delays-and-disorders\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">World Health Organization<\/a>, with support from\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.autismspeaks.org\/caregiver-skills-training-program\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Autism Speaks<\/a>, and used in 30+ countries to help address widespread shortage of evidence-based early intervention<\/li>\n<li>For caregivers of 2- to 9-year-old children with neurodevelopmental conditions, including autism<\/li>\n<li>Aims to empower parents and caregivers with knowledge, skills, and resources to\u00a0help better support their children and improve wellbeing<\/li>\n<li>The CST Program includes nine group sessions and three individual coaching visits that cover topics such as communication, daily living skills, positive behaviour and engagement, as well as caregiving coping skills<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eligibility and applications\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spaces are limited.
